CAIPA proudly joined and supported the Chinese-American Planning Council’s (CPC) 4th Annual Queens Special Needs Summer Picnic at the Queens Botanical Garden. The event brought together over 300 staff members and special-needs families for a memorable day filled with food, games, activities, useful resources, and meaningful connections.

As part of its participation, CAIPA provided gifts to families with special needs and promoted health awareness among underserved communities. Committed to breaking down language barriers and cultural differences, CAIPA advocates for equitable healthcare resources for all communities.

The event also presented findings from the New York Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Special Needs Survey. The survey highlighted significant challenges faced by individuals with developmental disabilities and their caregivers within AAPI communities, including difficulties in accessing essential services such as home care, transportation support, public assistance, and benefits.
