NYC Comptroller Brad Lander Invites CAIPA to AAPI Heritage Month Celebration

NYC Comptroller Brad Lander hosted a discussion addressing AAPI community issues, such as city contract procurement, education, and language accessibility. Over 40 organizations, including the Asian American Federation, CAIPA, and FCBA, joined with 60+ representatives.

Lander proposed streamlining contract processes with initiatives like the Passport Plus system, reducing processing time to 17 days. He supported legislation to enforce contract execution deadlines. Education concerns included professionalism in translation services, prompting Lander to focus on improving NYC Department of Education procurement requirements.
