The Coalition of Asian-American Independent Practice Association (CAIPA) leadership recently met with several state elected officials, including State Assemblywoman Nily Rozic, to discuss the critical need to expand healthcare access for the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community in the state budget.

Representing CAIPA were Dr. George Liu (Chair, President & CEO), Peggy Sheng (COO), Dr. Eliza Ng (Chief Medical Officer), Sin Li (Vice President of Network Operations), Shirley Huang (Vice President of Public Relations), and other key representatives.

During the discussion, CAIPA leaders highlighted longstanding challenges faced by the AAPI community, including healthcare resource shortages, language barriers, and affordability concerns. They emphasized the importance of implementing policies that promote equitable, culturally competent healthcare services and reaffirmed CAIPA’s commitment to advocating for solutions that ensure improved healthcare access and outcomes for AAPI populations.
