CAIPA Foundation Hosts the 6th Annual Asian Heritage Night

The CAIPA Foundation held its 6th annual Asian Heritage Night in midtown Manhattan at the Edison Ballroom on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. The Asian Heritage Night is a cultural celebration during AAPI Heritage Month, recognizing the year’s best providers, community service organizations, and lifetime achievements in providing and promoting health care to New York’s Asian community. The healthcare industry was represented by health plans, healthcare administrators, hospitals, and providers in attendance during this celebratory dinner and ceremony.

The ceremony opened with remarks from Dr. Sun-Hoo Foo, Chairman of the CAIPA Foundation, who thanked his colleagues across the industry for their support that has enabled the CAIPA Foundation to continue their service to the community. Dr. George Liu, President and CEO of CAIPA, then took the opportunity to thank those in attendance and providers across the organization, for their outstanding performance in providing quality care.

Honorees for the night included Dr. Benjamin Z. Wu (PCP), Dr. Gang Meng (Pediatrics), and Dr. Xuebin Yin (OB/GYN) were celebrated with Physician of the Year awards. Dr. Steve C. Chang (Internal Medicine) and Dr. Jih-Lih Chiang (Allergist) were honored with Lifetime Achievement Awards. Additional remarks were given by Dr. Amy Chu-Wong on the important achievements and contributions of the CAIPA Foundation over the past year. The night’s Community Service Award went to the Healthfirst Interborough Team, following an outstanding year in service to the Asian community across New York City.

The Asian Heritage Night’s cultural performances included those from the CBA Culture and Arts Center, Sitan TaiChi & Martial Arts, the Dance Department at FTC Middletown, and the Korean Traditional Music and Dance Center, which drew admiration and applause from the audience.
CAIPA is one of the most successful independent provider associations across the Greater New York area, with more than 1,400 physicians and their affiliates, covering over 70 specialties practices serving the Asian community in New York. Together, CAIPA serves nearly 500,000 patients.
