Mayor Eric Adams Honors CAIPA Dr. Wang Yaoming at Lunar New Year Celebration

Coalition of Asian-American IPA (CAIPA) was invited to attend the Lunar New Year reception hosted by New York City Mayor Eric Adams at the New York County Surrogate’s Court in downtown Manhattan. Hundreds of representatives from the Asian community’s associations attended the event to celebrate.

 

Congratulations were warmly extended to Dr. Wang Yaoming, President of the Flushing Chinese Business Association (FCBA) and a physician member of CAIPA, for receiving commendation from the mayor! CAIPA’s guest doctors invited to the celebration included Dr. Xiao Yonghong, Dr. Wu Qiong, Dr. Pauline Lau, Dr. Gong Lin, Dr. Wang Yulin, and others.

 

During the event, Mayor Adams expressed, “Year after year, we see how much of this community has grown and continue to be such a vital part of not only the economic strength of our city, but as you see, the rich diversity of our city, The Year of the Dragon is about action, innovation and prosperity. Or as we say in City Hall, it’s about getting stuff done.

CAIPA Foundation, Inc. has joined forces with Homecrest Community Services, Inc. to produce “Our Community, Our Voice” booklets aimed at combating hate crimes in the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities. Available in both Chinese and English versions, these booklets are being freely distributed to empower and support those affected. The initiative has garnered significant attention from local media, with leading Chinese outlets like World Journal and Sing Tao Daily prominently featuring the story on their local front pages.
