On May 21, 2026, CAIPA Foundation hosted the 2026 Asian Heritage Night in midtown Manhattan, recognizing the year’s best providers, community service organizations, and lifetime achievements in providing and promoting health care to New York’s Asian community.
Attendees included NYC Council Finance Committee Chair Linda Lee, City Councilmember Shekar Krishnan, representatives of State Assemblymembers and City Councilmembers, and other community leaders in recognition of CAIPA’s contributions to community service.
The night’s special honorees included Dr. Amy Chu-Wong (Internal Medicine), Dr. Yumei Ding (Pediatrics), and Dr. Felix Chu (Cardiology). They were celebrated with Physician of the Year awards. Dr. Betty Iu and Dr. Rumei Yuan were honored with Lifetime Achievement Awards. The night’s Community Service Award went to Fidelis Care, following an outstanding year in service to the Asian community across New York City.
The evening also featured cultural performances by Ashley Liang Dance Company with “Peonies Blossom & Silk Road,” the Dance Department at FTC Middletown, and a special erhu performance by internationally acclaimed artists Feifei Yang and Inna Lu. Their performances brought joy, festivity, and a strong sense of cultural pride to the celebration.
